    Pupil Leadership

At Compton All Saints’, we believe every child has the potential to lead, serve and make a difference within our school community. Through a range of pupil leadership opportunities, children are encouraged to develop confidence, responsibility and a strong sense of belonging, living out our values of Truth, Grace and Courage in meaningful ways.

    School Council

Our School Council gives pupils a voice in shaping our school and is led by Mrs Giles and Mrs Balchford. Each year, children who are interested in becoming a representative put themselves forward and share why they would be a good role model for their class. Pupils then take part in a class vote, learning about democracy and the importance of having their voices heard. Representatives meet regularly to share ideas, discuss improvements and represent the views of their peers, playing an active role in helping to make our school an even better place to learn and grow.

    Worship Monitors

Led by Mrs Cooke, our Worship Monitors support our daily collective worship, helping to create a calm and reflective atmosphere. They take an active role in worship, including participating in drama and leading elements of collective worship. They also support with practical responsibilities such as setting up the hall, creating and maintaining prayer spaces around the school and helping to care for our prayer garden, deepening our shared sense of Christian community.

    Librarians

Our Librarians, led by Mrs Giles, promote a love of reading throughout the school. They help to organise and care for the library, recommend books to others and encourage their peers to explore new stories and authors.

    Wellbeing Team

Led by Mrs McNair-Chaplin, the Wellbeing Team helps to ensure every child feels supported, safe and included. They promote kindness and positive relationships across the school, offering a friendly face and helping to lead initiatives that support emotional wellbeing. Using the NHS 5 Ways to Wellbeing as a guide, the team focuses on a different area each half term, helping to shape their work across the year. They set wellbeing challenges for the wider school community to get involved with, spreading positive messages beyond the classroom. Each week, they also share three simple wellbeing challenges on the playground chalkboard for children to try during break and lunchtimes, encouraging small, meaningful actions that support wellbeing for all.

    Year 6 Buddy System

Our Year 6 pupils take on a special responsibility as buddies to our Reception children. Paired together for the year, they help the youngest members of our school settle in, feel confident and build strong friendships. This nurturing partnership creates a sense of family and belonging across the school.

Through these roles, our pupils are empowered to take responsibility, show leadership and make a positive impact on others, growing into confident, compassionate individuals with hope at the heart of all they do.

    EARA

Five children from years 4 to 6 have been chosen as EARAs (Equality and Rights Advocates) and under the guidance of Mrs Giles they represent Compton at the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging District Partnership meetings.

    Our Mission Statement is:

We will ensure, throughout our school, that people are treated equally and fairly. We will encourage others to uphold our core values of compassion, honesty and gratitude. We will support others, no matter what challenges they may be facing, to become successful in all areas of school life.

We meet once a fortnight with Mrs Giles, and once a term with other EARAs from across Hampshire. We work to ensure inclusivity and equality is at the forefront of our school. We will soon be doing assemblies and starting projects - watch this space to see what we do!
